Statistical, data, and survey research consulting is available during the week for both in-person (Fall and Spring terms only) and Zoom consultation (Fall, Spring, and Summer) drop-in hours.
We are Data Specialists
The Data Analytics team at CITL offers comprehensive consulting services to support data-driven projects and research for the Illinois campus. Our expertise includes guidance on statistical analysis and the use of major statistical software packages such as SPSS, R, Python, SAS, and STATA. We consult on survey research design and online survey implementation, ensuring that methodologies are robust and results are meaningful. Additionally, we provide consulting to a variety of data repositories, helping individuals identify and leverage existing data sources to enhance their projects. Consultations takes place at the Media Commons at the Main Library (Room 220) or zoom (Zoom consultation) where we offer drop in consulting hours.
Find & Analyze Data
We provide consultations to faculty, staff, and students with all stages of working with data, including preparation, analysis, selecting statistical models, and troubleshooting program code. Our group consults on cleaning and organizing data, while also assisting users with choosing analytical approaches and resolving technical challenges with software or coding. In addition to this hands-on support, we help the campus community locate and access electronic data resources for instruction, projects, and research. This includes connecting users to relevant datasets, repositories, and digital tools, as well as offering advice on how to integrate these resources into academic and scholarly work.
Create a Survey
We offer consulting with all aspects of survey construction, design, and implementation to support high-quality data collection and analysis. Our services include helping with survey question development to promote clarity and reliability, advising on appropriate sampling methodologies, and encouraging pilot testing to refine instruments before full deployment. We also assist with programming online surveys on platforms such as Qualtrics and Alchemer. In addition, we provide consulting in statistical analyses to help interpret results accurately and effectively.
