X3 Studio

CITL’s X3 Studio (Experience, Explore, and Excel) space is a dynamic hub for innovation, experimentation, and content creation. Designed to support faculty and students exploring emerging technologies, X3 focuses on three key areas: 

Generative AI Experimentation: 

• X3 provides a collaborative environment for experimenting with the educational applications of generative AI and provides an environment for our community to openly discuss the opportunities and pitfalls of using AI. Whether you're interested in using AI to enhance curriculum design, automate content creation, or prototype intelligent learning tools, the space supports hands-on experimentation and ideation. 

XR Experience Development: 

• Building on the legacy of the VR Lab, X3 offers a robust setup for immersive experience design and testing. X3 features a space dedicated to XR design and development, including two mixed reality headsets, a XR development desktop, and a 65” screen mirror for external viewers. Faculty and students can explore existing XR applications or co-develop new ones tailored to educational goals with CITL’s own XR Designer. 

Digital Media Content Exploration: 

• For those focused on media production, X3 features a full podcast-ready booth ideal for streaming, video creation, and digital storytelling. The space has hosted faculty lead podcasts, voiceover sessions, and much more.
